I visited this museum, as part of a trip to discover Anguilla. My father Ron Onions had covered the 'revolution' on the island at the end of the sixties. I had a child's view of what had happened but this heritage collection helped me to understand that it was a more complex picture. But as well as the more modern... More

We waited until our last day to visit the collection but wished we has done it at the beginning of our vacation. There is so much information available that it would have been nice to have those details as we travelled the island. You could easily spend an hour or two (depending on your level of interest) checking out all... More

This little gem of a museum is one man's life-long labor of love telling the story of the people of Anguilla. Mr. Petty, the curator, has collected and curated an amazingly thorough, thoughtful and professional presentation of the history of the island. The history of island is both painful and inspirational and the museum treats both equally. Take a few... More

Wifey and I greatly enjoyed learning about the history of Anguilla. Though not a huge space, the exhibits were well thought out and informative. They started with the first natives to occupy the island and continues through the revolution. My only complaint is that I wanted more. How did Anguilla transform from an island with no phones, no electricity, and... More

On almost every trip we visit this museum, and we always learn something new. Colville Petty, the curator, has gone far beyond collecting and displaying artifacts and curiosities; he has organized them into sections that tell the difficult history of this little island, from slavery, through the hardships of the post-slavery era and its two revolutions. Mr. Petty himself has... More

My wife, 7 year old daughter and I stopped in one morning and spent a couple of hours there. Mr. Colville Petty has curated an astounding collection of artifacts and history of Anguilla, from prehistoric times through the modern era. Mr. Petty was on site and available to answer all of our questions. Spending some time here gives you a... More

A small museum divided into time and cultural periods of Anguilla's history. Each interest, chronicled in order from Pre-Ceramic to Revolutionary presents the period in an easily understood and appreciated manor. We were most surprised by how recently Anguilla became an independent country in the British Commonwealth. A "must do" is engage the curator, Colville Perry in conversation. Admission fee... More

You can spend an hour-- or much more-- going through the thoughtful collections here at the museum. Spanning a time-period from pre-history (ancient tools made from shells) to leg irons from the slave period to the blow-by-blow accounts of the separation struggle of the late 60's. It's a go-at-your-own pace arrangement and you can linger on artifacts briefly or read... More
