The displays embrace 2D and 3D work in all mediums and styles from across the world, spanning 1500 years. Each year there is a vibrant temporary exhibitions programme, which includes photography, textiles and much more. There is also the chance to meet an artist at work in the artists' studio (February to November). Visitors can watch a variety of artists create their next masterpiece, take away some helpful hints and tips or even purchase an original artwork.

A large old mansion houses a collection of paintings, prints and sculptures. And the garden is home to a sculpture park (which could do with a good trimming). Finish off the visit with a drink and home cooked foods and cakes at the large cafe.
