We took our two grandchildren, aged 4 and 2, on the Santa Special today. Absolutely fantastic, the event was keenly priced, well organised, the train was very well decorated, with drinks and sweets for the children, and mince pie, and sherry or tea/coffee for the adults. The staff on the train( all of whom are volunteers) were great, keeping us... More

We booked a family visit to see Santa. Four adults and two very excited grandchildren. This was our first visit to the East Kent railway. We found it very well organised and well run with friendly staff and great value for money. It starts with a short journey by train to our destination our coach was very festively decorated with... We took our 10 year old grandson on the train of terror on the Sunday at 6pm, so that it would be dark to increase the atmosphere. The train was well decorated with webs and spiders, but the music played was a bit naff. However the local thespian group from Canterbury put on a good act on the train and... More

We took the grandson on the Halloween train of terror.I had never been to the railway before but found the whole experience well worth the visit. Everybody was very friendly and put on great scary Halloween show. Will certainly do the other events in the future. Many thanks to all you volunteers.

this is brilliant experience and more frightening in the dark. We went on the 7.30pm train. Good family fun on the train but was not expecting to get off the train and then ride on an open sit on train Always looking around in case someone jumped out at you. Walking through the woods in the pitch dark and suddenly... More

We thoroughly enjoyed this year's production, with two 8-9 year olds who wanted to do it all again as soon as we got to the end. We allowed 3 hours in total which was about right, so we could stop at the model railway, shop and cafe, as well as participate in the main event - the Train of Terror... More

We enjoyed a brilliant day out today, lots of scary entertainment on the train journey to Eythorne and back, and also in the creepy museum at Eythorne and back at Shepherdswell. Can't beat this for a good value family-friendly Halloween outing

We attended the the train ride of terror event and couldn't be happier. For £10 we got around an hour and a half of full emersive entertainment on a train ride that will be remembered for a long time. Probably a little scary for kids under 9-10 but that depends on the kid. Enjoyable Halloween music, zombies, lights music, laughs,... More

More like a visit to a scrap yard in parts - a chunk of the trail journey was in a tunnel so cannot even say the views were good!

Wonderful visit to this very lovely heritage railway run by very friendly volunteers who were very helpful. It's quite a rustic heritage railway but to us this only added to the charm...and for £6 an adult bargain. Ignore the ignorant reviews from people that clearly know nothing about what a working heritage railway on limited funds is like. If you... More
