Quiet, peaceful and exactly where you would expect a hermitage to be!

Need some quiet time where you can get away from it all and find some tranquility? This is it! We were hectically cramming everything we could into our most recent visit to Scotland and former hometown. But things got too busy so we took a visit to the hermitage or at least where a hermitage was located in days of... More

We visited the Hermitage whilst on holiday staying with friends in Perthshire. It's a beautiful riverside walk along the River Tay, with a stunning waterfall which is worth the trip to see on it's own! You can then detour upto Pine Cone Point, with stunning views.

The Ossian's Loop walk is an easy stroll, it is listed as an hour, but for anybody of reasonable fitness, and no camera, it could be much quicker. We however, had children with us and a number of cameras. This made it a very enjoyable, and none too taxing two hour dander through some spectacular scenery. The power of the... More

The force of nature is outstanding at this place, beautiful, stunning. Nature at its best. We stopped on our way to visit castle Menzies there is a sign which says rumbling bridge. Car park just off the road then a minutes walk to the river. If your out this way it's not to be missed.

We had a wonderful autumnal morning at The Hermitage. We were so fortunate that the sun was shining and it had rained a lot in previous days. The relatively short walk to Ossian's Hall is easy going and you pass through some superb forest areas. Ossian's Hall is a folly where visitors can stand in safety to enjoy the cascading... More

The longer walk was closed for safety, but the 500m walk to the bridge was delightful, and picturesque The area is popular with dog owners, plenty of wagging tails when i visited.

We spent a wonderful morning walking in this stunning location. Good shoes enhance the experience although the walk is not too difficult.

Great walk among woodland with river and waterfalls. Designated paths for disabled access. Only downside is the lack of toilets
