the mosque in the heart of the city is unique in its use of blue ceramic tiles laid in ornate designs. The towers in particular are beautiful.

One of the must see in Afghanistan! The Shrine is beautiful, especially in the early morning. Just take a seat under the tree, take a look at the shrine, have a talk with afghan pilgrims and drink a glass of green tea with them. You will love the athmosphere of this place and the whole Mazar. And remember to buy... More

It is unique because unlike many other similar mosques/shrines, every side of this mosque is covered by colourful tiles. A great time to visit is around 530-6pm in the summer, when you could see the call to prayer. The stall selling pigeon feed is also... More

Beautiful mosque. As other reviewers say - you could spend hours looking. If it was safe! This is probably the pinnacle of Afghanistan Tourism. An absolutely stunning building.

People often ask me "why did you travel to Afghanistan", all I do is show them a picture of this mosque and they are left in awe. This mosque you can spend days inspecting the blue tiles and white marble facades of this absolute beauty. While at the mosque white pigeons fly around you the mega phone sings a beautiful... More
