Great gallery with the biggest collection of Beksinski's art - paintings, sculptures, photography and more. It was worth coming here from Warsaw to see it! Another advantage was the guide we hired in the museum. He said lots of interesting things and showed us other parts of museum as well (including the huge icons collection). I highly recommend it to... More

You can lear a lot about Sanok history. All in Polish and English language. The new wing with Beksinski paintings was fantastic, high standard. Must see if you in Sanok

The museum is small, but has wonderful exhibition. Of course icons are famous and fabulous, but it also features history as well as the largest collection of Zdzislaw Beksinski - famous Polish artist.

Icons from the 17th and 18th cent. are mostly low quality: too much Western influence. In Sanok museum they have a high quality collection of 15th and 16th cent. icons.

Enjoyed the hundreds of religious icons on display from the past centuries. So glad this museum is there as many of the Eastern Orthodox Churches were closed in Poland after WWII -1947. Ironic just off the parking lot of this museum is an Orthodox Church, most after WWII were converted to Roman Catholic Churches or demolished. If fact one church... More

We made 400km to visit this museum and it was worth the long trip. One of the most beautifull icon collection in Europe. To take the guide is reccomended although they should practise the foreign languages. The name of our guide was Przemyslaw. Very competent one but shy. Ask him questions. I bet, his answer would satisfy you.

We visited the museum with a group and had a guide - it was very interesting and beautiful even for someone who saw many icons in many museums. For people nee to this - better to have a guide

For art buffs like us, this museum was a delight. The icon section is very interesting and the contemporary artists on display are not to be missed. Excellent restoration of the castle itself.
