This takes a bit of getting to if youre not used to the roads but if you relax and enjoy the drive instead of trying to hurry it doesnt seem as long. Theres some nice picnic spots, refreshments and a warm welcome from two friendly dogs. You are and the westerly point on the mainland and there are views to... More

Well the trip to get there was spectacular, lots of things to do on the way. We went to the ardnamuchan distillery and the natural history place in the village before the Lighthouse as well as having a walk with the dog to a lovely beach en route as well as popping to the ferry port to watch fishing boats... If you love Wild beachs and windy places go to the most westerly point on mainland Britain. The views are stunning especially on a clear day, and worth the narrow rough road to get here. Do call in at the little shop/cafe before you go up to the light house as you need a ticket to go up and as... More

Having travelled from Ireland to visit the most westerly point we climbed the steps to the lighthouse only to be told we weren't allowed to access it without a ticket. On explaining we genuinely didn't know this as it didn't show anywhere that a ticket had to be purchased or where the man working there said to us 'you knew... More

Took the Corran Ferry over to Ardgour and followed the road out to Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, half of the journey was on single track roads with plenty of passing places, glad to say the road was relatively quiet, the Lighthouse its self sits high on the cliff top with stunning views all around, on a clear day you can see the... It is a 100 mile round trip from Corran Ferry to Ardnamurchan Point on a mostly single track road. We arrived only to find a pothole which ruined a tyre and required a wheel change in the teeth of a gale and the wild Atlantic spray. So why go? Well the scenery even on a windy/wet March day with low... More

Great views nice refreshments & the fact you are perching on the most westerly point of Mainland Britain makes a visit here a must if you ever tour the West Coast of Scotland. On your journey up the one main road you have a fair chance of seeing Golden or White Tailed Eagles too!

Definitely worth doing if you are visiting the Ardnamurchan peninsula. Tour only takes about 15 mins and you get a fantastic view over towards the islands of Muck, Eigg and Rum. A great location for spotting whales and dolphins (although all we saw was the Calmac ferry from Uist to Oban!). This is the most westerly point on the British... More

The cafe is situated next to the lighthouse and offers filled rolls, cakes and drinks. There is also a small gift shop. The views are amazing, overlooking the beach. You can walk up the light and on a clear day see the islands in the distance. Magic!

I am sure, how lovely a walk could be if the sun is shining - we enjoyed our hike on a rainy day as well. Have a break at the coffee shop!
