We are staying in the area and have always meant to visit. I believe parking to always be a bit of a challenge when visiting popular places in Cornwall, but we found a car park just out of town and we walked along the beach to the causeway. On entering the site we discovered the house and gardens were shut... More

Despite the very blustery conditions, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to St. Michael's Mount. Even my 80 year old mother was able to make it all the way up the steps and enjoy the castle and grounds!

Upon our visit to Cornwall we thought we would go to St Michael's mount. We started the morning off bright and early to ensure we could walk across at low tide at 10.20. On arrival we were greeted at the entrance by a nice man telling us that the guided tour which we said we didn't want to attend and... More

I’m very sorry that your experience was not a positive one. We do publicise the tour information as clearly as possible, and the times and structure of our winter operation are advertised on all of our literature and website. We also have a mainland guide in the car park to help keep visitors informed. I have investigated the circumstances leading... More

We have visited St Michael's Mount many times and are always drawn back when ever we visit Cornwall. Firstly, there is the issue of how to get to the island from Marazion and back again. Depending on the tide times it is a short boat trip or a walk on the causeway.....both are fun and maybe going out one way... More

Walked over the causeway to the mount. Very friendly guides at the entrance. Loved seeing the film about life on the mount. Unfortunately couldn't go up to the top as was closed the day we were there but was nice just wandering around.

For anyone visiting the Cornish coast this has to be on your bucket list. Access via the causeway or boat this is a piece of living history. Quaint little harbour & home's still occupied add to the attraction. All day parking is available on the mainland from £5, boat across £2 then admission to the mount it's self unless you... More

Whether you see an island or a promontory will depend on the tide but either way this is an intriguing place unlike any other. At low tide the mount is accessible over a man-made causeway from the town of Marazion a few miles east of Penzance. This makes a good visit – as long as you know the tide times... More

What a marvelous little island to explore! Reminiscent of Mont Saint-Michel (but not nearly as grand). The castle has served many purposes in its lifetime so take time to wander the rooms and halls to gain an insight into its history. Walked over the causeway on arrival at low tide but the tide had started to turn when it came... More

Visited in November so were fortunate to get a full guided tour of the grounds and house. The gardens are beautiful, the house and church remarkably well preserved and maintained and the lady guide informed and knowledgable. We spent a good day here and would re visit when next in the area.
