The Guánica State Forest & Bioshpere Reserve (Bosque Estatal de Guánica, in Spanish) is an great example of a dry forest, as compared to the rain forests found elsewhere on the island. Covering almost 1,000 acres, it has been designated as a United Nations International Biosphere Reserve. The forest offers many well-maintained trails and is a bird-watcher’s paradise.

I was floored by the amount of trash and litter. Hiking trails were easy, but when you make it to the beach area it was absolutely filthy. Dirty diapers, water bottles, paper plates anything and everything littered on the beach. Made me sad.

We drove from Aguadilla, took about 1 hour and 1/2 with traffic. At this point it's 11 am and pretty hot. The GPS takes you via two ways: one goes all along the coast and stops near a gate (which may close during rainy days)...More
