This is an amazing shop and café. We went in a couple of times, to browse and another day to have coffee. The place smells amazing and is so very unusual. The book selection is tremendous, staff are very friendly and helpful. The poetry phials are unique and the delicious coffees are named after poets, served in flat bottomed flasks with milk in beakers.Great cinnamon bun too! If you are in Bishop's Castle you really really should visit this superb shop.

What a delight! Too many superlatives, so little space! Full to the brim with interesting books displayed in imaginative ways, The cafe serves cakes and an interesting array of coffees, etc. served up in and on modified old Chemistry Lab equipment. A very novel serving system that looked great and worked well. You can sit on 'Do not go gentle into that good night' cushions, read rolled up poems, etc. Good value, good food and pleasant staff. I now know a lot about calorie counting diets, cream eggs and marmite on toast :-)

This is one of the friendliest, most interesting, beautiful bookshops I have ever visited. There’s is also a restful cafe with wonderful cakes and coffee on a poetic theme. It is a place that is ideal for a well earned restful cuppa where you can muse and look at beautiful poetry magazines. Ideal of you’re travelling solo.

This is the place to quietly brows an imaginative array of books - poetry and otherwise - and stumble across quirky literary gifts. From wordy games to poet- tree baubles, from phials of poetic pills to decorated wooden spoons to stir up muses, this is a creative gold mine. And there’s a socially distanced cafe too.

What an absolutely wonderful shop, a one of a kind. So many things to feast the eyes on and delight the senses. Even if you are not that into poetry there are still a lot of interesting things to want to buy. And of course what a wonder the actual shop is with all it’s old fittings. What a joy to see such things. And to top it all they have a lovely little cafe so one can come down from the high of the shop with a nice cup of tea. I thoroughly recommend this shop and my four children 12 to 20 loved it.

This place is a dream come true. It is a beautiful environment to start with, it is welcoming, relaxed, has amazing coffee, tea and cakes, sells glorious books of poetry, life and beauty and is just a joy to be in. The convergence of literature, wellbeing and beauty in one place happens right here. It’s is one of the jewels in Bishops Castle’s many splendoured crown.

A unique offer. Never been anywhere quite like it. Lovely place to have a look through, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Easily the best coffee I have ever had at an independent. The caramel crioffin ( croissant/muffin) was delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend as a relaxing place to sit and let time stop for a while.

Called in here on recommendation from Radnor House, Hay on Wye. Good coffee and tea, beautifully presented together with scrumptious cake. Spent more than I should have in the shop - too tempting. Lots of unusual items and gifts. Friendly owners, this ingenious and unique place deserves to be a success

Beautiful place; it's got to be seen to be believed; if you view the website you'll be intrigued and most likely delighted; but oh my you have a treat in store when you visit! Warm friendly welcome from Deb; beautiful displays ordered by 'ailment/topic'; incredible selection of the best peotry and prose in offer. As well as the lovely little literary gifts we all love. It's quirky building is the perfect setting for this beautiful shop; or literary pharmacy. Fab little cafe too with scrummy cakes and speciality teas and coffees (yes; with literary themes!!!) You're in for a real treat!!!

The store / coffee shop is set in such a lovely area. The staff were so attentive, kind, understanding and talkative! Such a great atmosphere. I really felt at home as soon as I stepped in. Each table is full of poetic stimulation with a 'poem of the day' and work from local writers! There was a wide range of coffee to choose from, delicate cakes from a local baker and decent prices too! Soft acoustic music played quitely in the background, perfect for reading or writing. The shop section has such a vast variety of books to browse. I particularly liked the hand-crafted pills containing short sections of poetry to heal one's worries!

A faultless experience. It deserves a lot of praise. Thank you to the great staff! The best coffee shop experience I've ever had :)
