Me and my friends were attending a wedding and decided to convert the outing to a vacation. Hence, we decided to stay at a guest house near (Malpe, Udupi) so it's easier to reach (St. Mary's Island). We all had a crazy time at the beach, banana boat ride and enjoyed our stay the superb way. We all loved the... More

A short ferry ride from Malpe Beach. The ferry is abit overpriced at 200Rs. ( Can go upto 300 during seasom ) The view is very pretty. The best time to visit is during the sunset ! The rocks add to the beautiful setting. The ferry closes around 6-7 pm so reach Malpe around 4:30 to enjoy the place at... More

We took a motor boat from udipi to this island. Normally, they insist that you take the return boat in 1 - 2 hours. But, you can request for some more time. Please do not get attracted to the water and attempt to snorkel here. There are rocks all over. You can find a lot of sea shells and very... More

Lovely patch of unspoiled beauty. It is very convenient to take the boats from Malpe beach. The trips start from 8:30 AM and they charge 300 Rs per head. The boat has a capacity of 24 but they will even make the trip at half capacity. The crystal clear water and the volcanic rocks on the island are a highlight.

This is a small island and you can spend either a couple of hours or a whole day here. Mostly clean beaches, fantastic rock formations and warm waters surrounding it...what more can one ask! Take a walk around the island. Even though it does get a bit crowded, you can eke out some solitude. The ferry ride to & from... More

What a beach! Serene, peaceful and divine. You need to get into a ferry from Malpe fish yard. They charge Rs. 200 per adult. It will just over an hour to reach closer by to the island. They will port you to a smaller boat from about 500 m from the shore, which will take about 5 min to reach.... More

The rock formations starts to make you think about how beautiful would have been the process of formation of earth. I never knew that there are geographical protected sight. The pace is worth a visit...the boat trip, the clear water and wonderful rock formations. Dont forget to carry a bottle of water with you...
