Sztolnie Walimskie were build by Nazi Germany during WWII as a part of large "RIESE" complex. Third Reich dig over 100 m deep into the rock mountains to create air raid safe bunkers. What was the ultimate goal of that construction is still not clear....More

The site belongs to a bigger project called Riese (= "giant" in German). The project consisted of 7 underground facilities: Jawornik, Soboń, Gontowa, Książ, Rzeczka, Włodarz and Osówka. The last three are accessible for tourists, Książ as well but only in a small part. There...More
