This museum is absolutely fascinating ! We spent nearly two hours doing the guided tour, which included 'hands on' experience of the instruments, we were given the opportunity to play the pianola and the theramin, which was fantastic. The volunteer Guide (Roy) was an excellent 'mine of information', he gave us so many interesting facts about the instruments and demonstrated... More

We had a very enjoyable, informative and entertaining morning at the Musical Museum. Roy gave us an enlightening and fun tour round the various exhibits, demonstrating each as we went. Chris Barber gave us all the history behind the Wurlitzer, operated its lift and played some very snazzy pieces for us. Great morning - thoroughly recommended.

We called in on Easter Monday, expecting to spend an hour or so there, but what a revelation it turned out to be. Staffed by enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers, it was absolutely brilliant and we had a wonderful time. Our guide, Steve Lewis, was excellent and demonstrated a wide range of pianolas, automatic pianos, and a theramin and explained how... More

Excellent experience discovering old musical instruments and their history; it have been interesting to listen and watch those old instruments working. The ticket also included a guided tour with small performances to show the instruments.

Fabulous day at the Musical museum on Saturday. Really informative tour showing the development of mechanical and then electrical machines to play music, with the guide playing many of the machines for us, and at the end we could have a go on one. My favourite one was a mechanical piano that played back Rachmaninov himself playing Flight of the... More

We did not even realise that this Museum existed! We passed it on the way to our hotel and we knew.... we had to visit. We were not disappointed at all. We are both keen Musicians and love anything musical. Roy, the Tour Guide did a fantastic job (we don't normally get involved in Tours) and he catered for the... More

We had a guided tour of this wonderful museum, and we were part of a group of people aged from 1 to 81. We all enjoyed it. The very knowledgable volunteer guide demonstrated lots of the mechanical musical instruments to us. The engineering that went into these wonderful artifacts was astounding, and I felt privileged to hear them working. We... More
