About
The scenery in Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is dominated by fells surrounded by forests and mires in their natural state. Because the area’s nature is clean and beautiful and the terrain varying, the park is a wonderful place to hike, ski and enjoy the outdoors. The silhouette of the fells can be seen practically at all times and the marked trails lead visitors to the National Park’s most beautiful look-out spots. The picturesque beauty of the Pallastunturi Fells has made the area one of the Finnish national landscapes.

We just came back from a 5 days Husky tour which we booked at Pallas Husky. It was an amazing experience and we don’t want to miss this in our life. Beautiful nature, Markku and his staff are making it to a lovely family bonding experience. They also are taking good care of the dogs and Laura did her job very good as guide! Thank you for this beautiful memory! We highly recommend it.

Stunning views and great outdoor area for various activities. There’s plenty of hiking trails and the Autumn colours were amazing in September. Absolutely awesome hiking experiences!

Absolutely beautiful and diverse national park. The park offers different possibilities (hiking, biking, skiing) for enjoying the nature for few hours to days long hikes. You can access the par very easily.

If you want to see some raw Finnish fell nature, I warmly recommend to hike the Hetta-Pallas path (approximately 50-55 kilometres). Just remember there is a lot of uphill and some challenging paths, so it doesn't suit for you if you have any mobility restrictions.

We drove up to the Pallas hotel and information centre.
The centre provides you with a hiking map and clear instructions.
We took the longest hike of 9km to the two main tops at 785 and 810 meters.
Despite we got caught in a hail storm, mist and pouring rain above 600m, we did the walk in 3 hours. It is not very difficult for people of average fitness.
Then we had a warm lunch in the Pallas hotel
Definitely a great hiking area with great views, in all weather.

We did the classical 55 km long trail marked already in 1934. The trail rises the top of several mountains ('kero') offering magnificent views as far as the Norwegian mountains. In between there are beautiful canyons ('kuru') with camping places and open cottages. The route is very well marked and the cottages are well equipped with gas stoves. I highly recommend.

Snowshoing is the best way to see this stunning place in the snow. You can stay on the flats or attempt some of the fells - the views are 100% worth it!

Visited the third largest national park in Finland only for walking around and admire the nature of some of it’s best. Outstanding winter views on a clear sky day with a strong sun lightening us.
Pleasant and relaxing even at -28, recommended.

Löytyykö lyhyitä reittejä (max 10km) käveltäväksi, tulipaikat reitillä olisivat plussaa 🤩
