The mine is partially still functioning. The area under the town is really large and deep. Some spaces are unbelievable huge. Interesting and unusual - and if the day is too warm, it is always quite cool down there (take enough clothes...)

Nice but cold one needs warm clothing. Was invited to a special dinner with local enterpreneur. Lovely food and good athmospheare next time again 😆

Because the Tytyri mine is a limestone-mine, there are no poisonous gases or anything else that could be dangerous. The air is always about 10°C and it is clean. In fact, the mine is so clean that the city takes most of its drinking water...More
