whats the point. why would you make a low force if theres a high force. waste of time and money if you ask me. the water could be used much more productively like feeding african children. dont go its an absolute ripoff and a scam

Very picturesque falls, easy to get to and lovely to view at close quarters. Artists were painting them on our trip and you could see them from different sides of the river

A short walk from the parking area brings you to this stunning area and waterfall. Perhaps not as dramatic as High Force, but equally stunning in its own way. In fact if your wanting to relax this is the area to do so. The sun kept coming out and shinning onto the bubbling waters and the reflections made it look like a diamond field. Great visit. I suggest you cross the Wynch Bridge as that in itself gives a nice view and in my opinion the far bank offers the best experience of the Force.

Low Force, a charming series of waterfalls. I wish there had been many schoolchildren enjoying this natural wonder, but school trips seem to have tapered off of late. Children should be brought to such beautiful places in order to implant a fascination and respect for the natural world; we take it for granted that a new generation will care for our environment once we retire or are gone.
I spent much time contemplating the beauty of Low Force; the waters here are calmer, but don’t be misled, they can be deadly too. I often wonder if this is how nature protects itself from mankind, preferring to keep us at a distance. Well, whatever one’s philosophy, Low Force doesn’t disappoint. I left feeling rejuvenated and thankful to have been in its presence.
Take care,

Amazing geological wonder, incredible views, well worth a visit. We combined with a visit to High Force and Gibson's cave which made for a great day. You need to be sure footed and ok with heights. Don't attempt with a buggy.

These are great falls very easy to walk to from Bowles visitors centre, even for people with mobility problems. The falls are very picturesque lots of areas to be able to paddle and picnic the bridge over the river is fun and the wild flowers around the area are beautiful. Well worth a visit. You can walk up steam to high force from here.

Worth a visit , good walk to the High Force, which took an hour or so. Not recommended for anyone with walking problems as it can be a bit of a struggle over the rocks and slippery surfaces at times and there are lots of steps in places.

We started our walk in Middleton in Teesdale very early on a saturday morning, so when we walked past Low Force it was still only around 9am. At this time it was lovely and quiet, we just passed a couple of other early morning hikers. I imagine it is very busy when the sun is shining as there were lots of fun places to paddle and large rocks to bask in the sun.

We have visited High Force in the past, but we actually preferred walking up this side of the river (opposite site to visitors centre) as we were so close to the water and the views were really great. Then when we walked up to High Force (reviewed separately) we were able to get right to the very top of the waterfall and look down into the thundering depths!

There is a great view point right next to the Wynch Bridge, where you can pose for a photo with Low Falls in the background. The bridge is fun to walk across. I also loved the stone sheep statues here!
