Ever wondered what it is like to play on a British Open type Links Course. Well Axe Cliff can give you that feel. With spectacular views of the Jurassic Coast, Axe Cliff is a Little Gem in East Devon. A challenging course with gorse grass if you hit wayward shots, but enjoyable if you manage your game just like the professionals. Many feature holes will make you want to play them again and again. Love or hate Links courses, Axe Cliff is here to please.

Visiting relatives in Devon and decided to have a round at Axe Cliff GC. A really nice course with some spectacular views. Lots of blind shots which for a 'first timer' made things a bit difficult but generally good golf. A little disappointed there was...More

Thanks for the comment. Not sure why there was no food available but I will check why and make sure it never happens again. We have a policy of providing refreshments to golfers and walkers all day. ( If it was Monday our member of...More

We have just come through a prolonged dry spell and I played on an excellent course elsewhere the other day and even with the watering, was dry as a bone. Considering we have just been voted in the top ten courses in Devon, it must...More

Played here last weekend with friends on a day trip. We took them up on the round with a meal afterwards for 28 pounds, great value. The course is tough enough to test you but fair enough to make a reasonable score. If your not...More

Really wonderful local club designed by James Braid. Some blind holes but more than compensated for by wonderful 360 degree views. Exceptional value and really worth enjoying the freshly cooked food after a memorable round. All abilities welcome and whilst a low score is a...More

I think you have summed up everything we are about. We have a challenging course and you recognise that you cannot have spectacular drops and undulations without blind holes. You also imply that to have a good day out you need a nice club house...More

Situated on the cliff top overlooking Lyme Bay you get stunning views, up the Axe Valley and right out across the bay! Never played somewhere with such views! The course was tidy, fairways well looked after with challenging greens. The course has greatly improved since...More

Thank you. We truly are blessed with 360 degree views. That is something that is a great bonus to the club and free gift from above. What we have worked on is improving this blank canvas both on and off the course. Nice course and...More

Sorry about the ball magnet nestling in Lyme Bay. You were playing on what was a busy day for us, so if you thought the pace of play was good then you could play nearly any other day and fly around. We have even had...More
