Canyoning with Carlos

A fantastic afternoon of canyoning with a brilliant guide, Carlos. It was just myself and my daughter and the instruction and photos he took were excellent. Even better than the canyoning I did in the Pyrennes. Highly recommended.

Gateway to the Western Picos

A good base for the mountains, we can recommend several places to eat as the town has a wide and extensive range of spanish restaurants, however, the restaurants sell a lot of the same (mountain style) food. It has an easy access to lots of activities e.g. canyoning, mountain path, Via Ferrata and much more. It is a great location for a family with teenagers who are active and love to get out and do.

Canyoning with Potes Aventura
Jul 2019 • Family
This is the best experience we’ve ever had after 30 years of traveling in Spain. We’ve hiked a lot and explored cities but this is singular. Sliding down canyon streams, rappelling, swimming in the canyon pools amidst waterfalls and jumping 22 feet into one of the pools is exhilarating. As the Costa Ricans say it is “pure life” pure vida. We are a family of 3 -ages 57, 50 and 14 and in good physical condition. Our guide Fernando was smart, kind and an expert at what he does. We highly recommend this to an adventurous, fit person who wants to experience the natural beauty of the Potes area.

Charming village/town in Picos
Mar 2018 • Friends
Charming & exquisite this is a must see.

Touring Spain with my adult son on a motorcycle and the Picos are legendary biker territory and with good reason.

Potes has plenty of narrow cobbled streets, lots of cafes, bars & restaurants. There’s a river running through the centre of town and when you look up you see snow covered (as of early March) peaks all around.

Fabulous morning canyoning

A fantastic 3 hours spent in the company of professional, friendly and knowledgable guides. Canyoning takes place in one of the streams that runs down to the Deva river. Lots of slides, abseiling and finishing off with a 7m plunge. Suitable for all ages (5-50) and everything is optional (ie, you don't have to do the jump at the end!). Kids loved it, as did the adults. It's a beautiful part of the world and you get to see it from a completely different viewpoint.

Catch the ferry to Santander, ride west until you pick up the signs for Potes and Picos de Europe then you holiday begins, fantastic scenery good roads, plenty of reasonably priced hotels and friendly locals. If you haven't been its a must . Many places to visit, the road from Potes to Cain is unmissable and the Cares george at the end of the road is a place to see
