Best ski resort in western Norway

Sauda ski senter has three lifts and a few different slopes to go down. It has the opportunity to go down prepped slopes, or you can go off piste into the powder snow. The view... read more

Decided to give snowboarding a go. Got the equipment and a lesson no problem got given an area to get to grips with out of harms way and when we got tired we went for a walk. The food is not that good ... i strongly recommend bringing your own food plus the food hall gets busy and very crowded.... More

Sauda ski senter has three lifts and a few different slopes to go down. It has the opportunity to go down prepped slopes, or you can go off piste into the powder snow. The view from the slopes is spectacular and they have one of, or maybe the best after ski in Norway. They have a decent park with a... More

I absolutely loved the slopes. Would love to come back as soon as possible. Great choice for new beginners. I found the off piste fascinating there. Cool unisex bathrooms.

Skiing in Sauda is fine. Nearly always excellent snow, but 2 days skiing is enough! There are a few variations but you end up doing the same runs. The "black" run is no where near as difficult as a black run in says a major french alpine resort, but good all the same. No one goes to Norway for the... More

Good runs by Rogaland standards, take the lifts to the top and it's 6 kilometres down again (or something like that). Very relaxing fast boat their and back from Stavanger. Want gourmet food and restaurants, and alpine style skiing, this isn't the place (nowhere in Norway is!).

Stavanger has many things to offer. But unfortunately downhill skiing on a high level is not offered without driving for a long time. Sauda is great in the sense that you can go there by boat into the fjords in the morning and return to Stavanger in the evening. It's nice enough, but if you've been to any of the... More

Okay ski centre, small to medium ski runs. But like everything in Norway, for the price you pay, pretty average. And being abit nearer the coast than other resorts, the weather can change quickly.Lucky with weather , then can be an okay days skiing.

Good place for skiing downhill. Don't expect any fasilities around though. From Stavanger you can take the "ski-boat" from city centre to Sauda ski center on weekends.

Take the Rødne Fjord ski boat straight to Sauda on a Saturday or Sunday. Leaves Vågen and 8 am and you're skiing by 10:30! Spend the day skiing and then jump back on the boat at 16:00 and home by 18:00. Sauda is the perfect size for a day trip with terrain for all levels.
