We decided to try out the River sledging as it was something different that myself and a friend had never done before. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. You start just after the big 7m waterfall and from there ride down several rapids. You get to experience the river first hand.. (Literally as I think I swallowed half of it on the first... More

We did the summit walk and it was spectacular. Like others I was sceptical about the price especially given we're a family of four and in total it was not spare change, but this was terrific. The drive out and up was an adventure in itself. The summit and crater walk was spectacular, the crew fun and pretty knowledgeable. We... More

I was a little skeptical about the hike (it being approx. 150 dollars) but after hiking it and understanding it was on sacred land it is completely worth the money and your time. The guides were fun and friendly. I unfortunately can't remember their names but they were awesome and set the standard for the rest of my NZ trip's... More

We did the rafting with Kaitiaki Adventures and it was a fantastic experience!! The staff were so friendly, fun and knowledgable. We knew we were in great hands and had the best time of our entire trip to NZ! It was great value for money as well. The rafting is a must do when visiting the area.

Highly recommend this guided walk up to and around Tarawera's crater, then on to the summit. Amazing views across all the lakes to steaming White Island. It's a steep climb but fine for those with average fitness. The run down the steep scoria slope is much less scary than it looks and loads of fun! Wear boots or good walking... More
