About
Santuario Huishtín is one of our oldest and most valuable partners at the Amazon Medicine Institute. A traditional Amazon Medicine Centre dedicated healing and personal discovery located on the Pachitea river in the Upper Amazonian rainforest in Peru, here you can begin a journey into total mind/body health and personal awakening. Set amongst the ancestral medicine trees in the Amazon rainforest and against a backdrop of a boiling volcanic river, Santuario Huishtín is a space of dreaming, healing, and detoxification, where one can restore oneself to a level of peaceful mindfulness in nature and recover one's vitality away from the stress and innervation of modern life in the city. Under the guidance of Maestro Santiago Enrrique Paredes Melendez, a master curandero (Amazon healer) and "vegetalista" (plant spirit shaman) with over thirty years experience, you can immerse yourself in the tradition of the apprentice "vegetalista," working with traditional plants in solitude in the rainforest to deepen self awareness, strengthen and detoxify the mind and body, and open visionary perceptions. Santuario Huishtín is also a place, very importantly, where you can heal and recover emotionally and spiritually and connect to the sacred parts of yourself and recover joy and creativity. Since the pandemic, we have launched new programmes, all facilitated by bilingual Amazon Medicine Institute facilitators. To take one of our programmes with Santuario, please visit us at the Amazon Medicine Institute (website). All of our healing retreats combine working with ayahuasca with a power plant diet that is safe for beginners (ajo sacha, bobinsana, or mucura). Botanical treks, medicine workshops, and hikes to explore the geothermal river system on the Aguas Thermales Reserve are included in the retreats. We work with expert guides and facilitators to ensure a safe and authentic experience.

I feel very fortunate and grateful to have stumbled upon this unique place.
I stayed 5 days with 3 ceremonies.
I felt safe and held by Maestro and his guides during my ceremonies.
It was a profound and life changing experience for me.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is on their "quest".
I was a solo traveller.
I stayed there February 2020.

The location of the center (the boiling river), the amazing shaman, the ayahuasca brew and the medicine ( which tailored to your need) all are the best... Going back soon for sure to stay longer this time.

Santuario Healing provides a unique experience like no other! It is an otherworldly life changing experience set deep within the jungle near a boiling volcanic river. Higher dimensions of reality, deep healing, and the keys toward living a life of authenticity take place here. This is all made possible under the guidance of Maestro Enrrique. The plant medicine at Santuario Healing cleanses and purifies the body. You can also enjoy invigorating floral baths, guided hikes in the jungle, and learn about healing plants & herbs. I am extremely grateful for the transformation and newfound commitment to my health. No doubt I will return to Santuario soon!

The place is amazing. The first ceremony was amazing.

But during the week, his wife and the maestro weren't there and we had one ceremony with a curandero who abuse of his position. Girls, be very carefull and don't accept to be alone with one of them in your room for a "special healing".

Santuario Healing was an incredible experience. Remote, lush, authentic, warm and incredibly kind hosts -- this was a real/the real experience. My Spanish being quite poor, I was lucky to visit at the same time as another traveller who had some Spanish - this really was key. I was looking for an authentic and gentle environment to work with Ayahuasca - and I feel extremely fortunate to have found Santuario.

I did a lot of research and I'm glad I found this center. There were 4 people when I arrived and one person left before my last ceremony. It was a small intimate group and I can say I'll be friends with them for life.
The maister has decades of experience and knows what he's doing.
The cook is amazing and takes really good care of you.
The Center is located beside a thermal spring and just being there fills you with energy. I've rarely visited destinations with this much natural beauty.

You should know Spanish or bring a dictionary. There is no electricity so if you're going to use your google translate tool then make sure to bring a solar charger.

Before you arrive/leave the center please book all your hotels, flights and transportation in advance. You will be too trusting of others and it'll be a bit easier to get ripped off since you'll have a sense of peace and trust after your experience. You won't really be in the frame of mind to spot this since you just spent so much time healing and opening your energy to the world.

I've just come back home today from a month retreat in Peru and 2 weeks at Santuario.

The place is POWERFUL, I could feel the good energies around ! I went there because I was surrounded by quite some bad energies which were affecting my health at multiple levels and creatings various blocages.

The 1st meeting with el Maestro Enrrique was great ! He took the time to listen to me and was concerned by the reason why I had come to him. He assured me that he would help me. And guess what ? He did !

After just the 1st ceremony I could feel things were changing, and after the 2nd one I had no more blocages anymore and all the bad energies had gone ! WOW ! Such a powerful shaman ! And he and his familly are so caring and loving people ! They make you feel like at home.

This place is magic and so beautiful !

Maestro Enrrique is so kind and here to help and offer you insights !

He did in 2 ceremonies what 6 shamans - in my first 2 weeks in another retreat - had been unable to do : get me rid of my bad energies and blocks !

No hesitation : if you need some healing, you have to go there ! Maestro Enrrique will help you, that's for sure !

The escort man Elias has been very helpful and kind as well to get me there and back in town.

Everything was exactly what I needed to be healed and back on track !

Thank you El Santuario !

Ayahuasca is a revered plant medicine for a reason. Sanctuario was an amazing place to try this for the first time. It does take some time to get there. Land in Pucallpa, met by Juan to go by car over highway and then bumpy roads, then by small boat, then hike for around 30-40 minutes. Sanctuario Huistin is located in the jungle next to the boiling river which provides warm water for bathing, and clean water to drink. The accommodations are modest with a main area that is relaxing. Rooms are single bed covered with mosquito netting. Enrique and Ayme are amazing shamans and make the experience truly life-changing.

Recommend packing for hot weather and not going when the mosquitos are abundant. Follow the food and beverage restrictions to avoid headaches while detoxing off of urban life. The meals at Sanctuario will adhere to recommendations when using ayahuasca.

The family is just great and people who are working there as well . The rooms was very simple and nice, bed with the mosquito net, comfortable chilling area with the hammocks next to the volcanic steamy river for reading, drinking organic herbs tea and eating.

Shamanic diet was not easy to handle for us but it was worth it. After one week spending in Santuario Healing center we left fresh, full of energy, very motivated and strong goals in our life.Your just simple clean your body and soul.

By the way, there is a lot of bugs, spiders and etc ( you are in the jungle kids xoxo ) but luckily you can not meet jaguars or other huge animal because Santuario healing center is surrounded by volcanic river ( wich is really hooot and I burnt my hand while was rinsing my dirty shoes) basically you are staying in the island.

Maestro Enrique and his wife Aymee singing beautiful icaros (shamanic songs), they just `radiate tranquility`. Enrique is Ayahuascero\ currandero. He really knows what he is doing. We have left the jungle as a different human beings!

In couple years we are going to come back for sure.

I would highly recommend Santuario healing center.

p.s. then we arrived there was only one lady there staying for one month. She showed the picture how did she look before entering to the Santuario healing center. I could not recognise her. She looked so good and 10 years younger then in that picture!

Santuario healing is an amazing place where you can slow down, connect with nature, and get into deep healing. Master Enrrique is a truly compassionate man, gentle in nature and a powerful healer. His medicine is pure and strong, his approach is gentle and his santuario is absolutely safe. They will help organizing your trip from the airport to the santuario so you don't have to be worried about travelling alone into the unknown. Once there, you will meet his family, and his beautiful children. You get to enjoy warm shower with volcano water from the river; and above all, you will have a chance to heal with different medicinal plants. The place is simple, but clean. Every room is equipped with a bed, clean linen, and a mosquito net. The only drawback is that you may not want to go back home. I will definitely be back to this wonderful place.
