This lighthouse is situated in a beautiful place on the rocks which you can walk round and take photos from all angles. The area was heaving with visitors so it was impossible to get a good photo of it without people in it. The cove...More

We were fortunate to visit just off season. It was a nice sunny day, and yes there are some stunning photo opportunities. That said, this is a small area, and I suspect that even though it was crowded mid week, it is nothing like the...More

I remember seeing pictures of Peggy's Cove when I was a kid. I was excited to finally see it in person. A little disappointing as the lighthouse needs a paint job. It was a rainy and foggy day which added to the atmosphere. Not a...More

A bride and groom had chosen to have their wedding pictures taken in the sunny afternoon as we were exploring the coast! And for a good reason: The scenery, structures, and coast are beautiful from all angles and well worth the trip. There is also...More

I was lucky to be there at an off time, and it was still busy. I cannot imagine how anyone could feign real excitement for the place when there are tons of tourists swarming this popular attraction. It is a beautiful spot. It is a...More

Quaint little fishing village. A little bit touristy, but a must see. Early in the season, so not too many tourists when we were there. Felt we were fortunate to be there on a very foggy morning. There was a Bag Piper playing. The whole...More

Great place to enjoy the scenery and landscape. Had an opportunity to walk on the granite and marvel at how this area was formed.

Took the tour bus from Halifax waterfront - so journey was relaxing. Costs the same as one way taxi from airport to Halifax but with amusing and knowledgeable driver. Peggy's Cove & lighthouse is a beautiful location with diverse gift shops a selection of eateries...More

Well worth the visit. A very beautiful stretch of coastline. There are lots of tour buses, think a cruise ship may have docked in Halifax. However, by arriving late afternoon most were on their way. Treat yourself to an ice cream from Dee Dee's -...More

What are the hours usually in September? Do they always close at 5:00 pm?

Access to the rocky shoreline around the lighthouse is always open. Most of the restaurants and shops should also be open in September.

Depending on the weather and how long you wish to stare at the ocean and lighthouse. We were there on a blustery day so we stayed 30 minutes tops.

If I only have time to visit either Peggy's Cove or the Lunenburg/Mahone Bay area before we head to Wolfville - which do you recommend? Which ever place we visit, we will spend the night.

Such a tough decision. To have more accommodation options I would have to say. Lunenburg Mahone Bay Area. Peggy's Cove is beautiful but I believe it would be much nicer in the spring/fall.
