松平家墓地園、 1657年から。ガメラにみたい墓はかっこいいね^^ Family tombs of Aizu's ruling dynasty, with the oldest tombs dating to 1657. The cemetary is built upon a hillside and plots are separated by a cobbled path slippery with moss. When dusk began to set in I hurried back to town.

The stone monuments which are mounted on stone tortoises describe the achievement of each lord in Chinese. It may be impressive for Chinese folks interested in oriental history and culture.

The grave site is a great spot to visit if you're already in Aizu and find yourself with an extra hour or so. It's a pleasant climb up and around a wooded hill, with the remaining graves and lanterns tucked in the shadows. It's not...More

A bit of a hike on the side of a mountain but in a beautiful pine forest. Quiet, serene with crisp air, it is far from the mobbed and well trodden tourist areas. Highly recommended.
