The view in the photo is what one can see after rains and the spillway is letting water out. The day we went it was spectacular. Cars go by very fast and very close so watch yourself carefully!

Super staff, friendly and helpful. Cable Car was a great journey up & down. Viewing sites were very informative at the top. Super pizza by the way. Well worth a visit.

Park the car and go for a walk acros the wall. It is stunning and a must. The sound of the thundering water is fantastic . Unfortunately the hawkers is a bit of a pest .

We happened to cross the dam wall on a trip from here to there on 22 February 2017 and glimpses of the roaring water dictated and unscheduled stop. Heavy rain earlier in the week had dictated the opening of all 10 sluice gates and the sight was well worth the stop.

The sun sets and sun rises are very beautiful. Out of season it is very relaxed and there are many attractions in the area. The dam needs to be cleared of growth and debris but the rates paid by the rate payers seem to be spent elsewhere.

The area is filled with curio shops, restaurants and the beautiful dam of course. The dam has a total capacity of about 195,000,000 m3, a catchment area of about 4 120 km2 and a total surface area of about 2 062.8 ha. There are mountains, dam wildlife and so much greenery everywhere. Really beautiful views, a great place to take... More

From seeing it dry and seeing it when it overflows is amazing. It is as if the plants and animals know when it is good season. The magical hills/mountains with the waterfalls. The trees. The sound of the waters is calming. Look for a resort close to the river to experience the tranquility of this amazing wonder in flood.

Apr 24: We have been here earlier and we couldn't find it. The directions from google maps and even from tripadvisor don’t take you to the dam. We were wiser from last time when we saw the dam sign when going to the Aerial cableway. Hence, this time reached the dam but it was quite a let down as there... More
