A landmark but nothing special
Nov 2020 • Couples
This working Lighthouse is situated on Playa Matorral on the other side of the protected nature reserve.

It is accessible by walking a distance along the beach or over a wooden footbridge.

It did look as if it was in need of a good coat of paint.

Working Lighthouse
Jun 2020 • Couples
Dominating the view from our holiday apartment, this is still a working lighthouse.

A stroll along the wooden boardwalk brings you up close & then you can see the 'obligatory' graffiti, that unfortunately all lighthouses attract.

Situated in the middle of the 3km Playa del Matorral, it can been seen from both ends & beyond.

Out for a walk
Jun 2019
Having a walk down the road and spotted what I thought to be a lighthouse. As we got closer we could see lots of people on the broad beach and also a nice handy beach bar which of course had to have a visit. After about an hour and a half we left although our 7 year old granddaughter wanted to stay. We were happy with our visit and did call back several times

Nice walk along the beach
Feb 2020
We walked along the beach close to the lighthouse from our hotel in Morro Jable. It is the quiet season at the moment, but there were still plenty of people swimming and sunbathing. But the most popular activities seem to be walking along the edge of the sea, or walking others doing the walking!

Beautiful coast area
Nov 2019 • Couples
Great area for walking. The coastline is magnificent with the waves crashing into the sea etc. Lovely stretch of beach. You can walk right up to the lighthouse but if you want to go on the beach be prepared to paddle through some shallow water depending on the tide.

Lovely beach, plenty of facilities

Great area of beach, lovely blue sea! Toilets available next to the lighthouse and shops just a few minutes walk away. Perfect for a day on the beach.

Great beach
Sep 2019 • Couples
A great beach with a bar and toilet facilities. The beach was clean and there was plenty of space so you wasn’t sitting too close to others. The sea is a bit rough but very warm. Just be aware that there are nudists on this beach and while it didn’t bother myself and partner it may come as a bit of a shock to other visitors from England! We went with it and followed suit which was very liberating! The lighthouse next to the beach is pretty but that’s about it. There is a bit of a nature reserve next to the beach that you are not allowed in but when walking near it you will see lots of chipmunks on the look out for food.

Beautiful beach
Aug 2019
A beautiful beach and promenade area. Pathway for pedestrians and cyclists separate to the road which allowed our daughter to wonder slightly ahead. We visited the skeleton of a sperm whale, walked the path way through the protected fauna to the light house and beach. Our daughter loved the play park. The sand is mixed volcanic black which our daughter was intrigued with. Nice clean beach with little cafe/bars every so often. Life guards at regular points which was good because the waves were quite choppy at high tide.

Morro jable beach is just perfect easily as good as Caribbean beaches. Plenty of Sun beds and wind breaks. Beach bars and plenty of restaurants

Stunning Beach
Feb 2019 • Couples
Just a fabulous beach, best we have seen outside of Australia and the Caribbean, the walk along the front is both paved and wooden walkways to the beach itself. The lighthouse is a good marker and an interesting view and the chipmunks are everywhere in the fenced nature reserve which borders the beach.
