Such an Amazing time in Munzur Valley
Aug 2019 • Friends
Springs are born in every corner of Mountains in Munzur Valley. It is just richness of nature. I spent such a nice time with my friends there. Also Tunceli city is very modern and high educated city in Turkey. It is only place where you can see little libraries in public bus stations.

A river pours out of the hillside
Jun 2019 • Couples
Many springs come out of a hillside to make an instant river. A nice picnic area with tables. A bit difficult to get to but if in the area it is worth a stop.

One of the most pleasant experiences on this trip
Jun 2019
It's not just the beautiful, peaceful Shangri-la setting by a gushing stream surrounded by snow-capped peaks. It's not just the clear, clean beautiful water gushing out of the ground on a hillside. The water is so fresh it has that glacial water look to it. It's also the people there who are so kind and friendly and welcoming. There are families lighting candles at a shrine, picnicking by the stream, walking about, grilling something to eat. It's not easy to get to is why it's not inundated by tourists. You have to go all around the mountains along the Munzur river through a narrow gorge to get there. And Ovacik (nearest village to it) is not a fancy place, just a simple village with a few simple hotels and restaurants and stores.
But you can taste and feel the happiness there.

Mythe of a river source
May 2019 • Friends
It was unbelievable to attend at the source of Munzur river. It was about 10 km away from Ovacik. There were 20 sources supplying water to the river. It is believed that Munzur Abdal had lived here once upon a time and sources have appeared from the milk droplets falling down from the milk bucket of Munzur. A sage man explained to us the philosophy of Alewit abdals.

Most Touristic Place in the Area
Oct 2018 • Friends
"Göze" means spring in Turkish and there are lots of springs at this part of Turkey and these springs are feeding the Munzur river.

But among them, the most touristic one is this place. I say touristic because this is the place where you have street vendors, street food, tea, music etc around, the others are purely nature.

We spent here around 30 minutes. We drank tea (one of the most delicious I ever had), ate a local pancake called "patila", bought vegetables, had a chat with handcraft stall holders and enjoyed the river and the nature around.

There is also a shrine here where Alevites come and pray and make wishes.

Oct 2016 • Friends
It takes some way to get there through an epic valley of munzur. You will want to stop at every corner to observe the beauty there are lynx in the area also. When you reach the destination taste the water you might have to warm it a little before you can drink coz its ice cold and have a taste of milk.
