Portion sizes ridiculously small and not well cooked. We had duck with skin on that had hardly seen the heat. Wine flight started after the first course so left you wondeing when you would get a drink. Too much time between courses, miniscule amounts of veg. Beautiful place but food poor, except for breakfast which was great.

I think this was the worse meal I have ever been served in restaurant soup ok if you like it cold a piece of beef that would have just cover a cigarette box that was 50% fat. There wasn't 1oz of meat We had to ask for gravy mustard ect 6 pats of butter between 10 people. The carrots looked... More

We were given this cream tea as a gift from friends and we have never before even heard of this castle but what a fabulous place it is. We arrived early and although they were busy the staff sat us down quite quickly. The tea room was lovely although not too warm for a cold day but it was decorated... More

We went there for lunch with friends for a treat. We were looked after second to none. The food was excellent and was preceded by a glass of champagne. The whole experience was a real treat in a beautiful setting.

Driving up to the castle to park the car is a treat in itself. When inside the gardens are well maintained and the ruins are spectacular. Our room was comfortable but unremarkable.Service was good but this is quite an expensive place. They have 19 rooms and 5 different categories of room so my advice is to check what you have got.

A beautiful day for a Golden wedding anniversary lunch in the private room . Unfortunately let down by the food -the beef was not warm and was overcooked . I understand the difficulties of serving 38 people. The vegetables were minimal - a tiny piece of broccoli and a non appearance of carrots that had been ordered. "The petit fours"... More

A new chef and an offer for lunch advertised in a local paper with 3-courses plus a glass of champagne and coffee after. Really excellent. The portions are not big but they are delicious. It's quiet, no piped music in the background and not busy the mid week day we went and just how we like it. It's a magnificent... More

From first calling the events team to the day of the wedding the staff at Amberley made us feel that nothing was too much trouble and that the whole event would be stress-free and exactly what we wanted - which indeed it was. We could not have had a more perfect wedding. The staff are friendly and welcoming and create... More

From the moment you approach the magnificent castle, it's evident this will be a different experience.Overnight stay with the Taster Menu for dinner worked very well. The room was extremely comfortable with a modern bathroom beautifully incorporated without detracting from the ancient building's distinctive character. Very friendly staff ensured everything carried out with gentle aplomb, from pre-dinner drinks in one... More
