A beautiful castle, dramatically located on the cliffs above the North Sea. Wonderful walk out from Stonehaven village along the cliff tops.

The most beautiful landscape I have ever seen with that mix of old, mystery, cliffs, sea, plantations and dangerous terrain. Very cheap, perfect for a walk with friends and/or family. Absolutely amazing.

Superb surroundings, beatifull castle. Very steep access with lots of stairs but worth the walk. Not for pushchairs for sure but ideal for a picnic on a sunny day like ours including in the castle.

I would give yourself 2 hours for the castle and walk. If you wanted to walk in to the beautiful town of Stonehaven another few hours or visa versa. But you can easily be there all day enjoying a lovely lunch in one of the... More

Hi, yes you can walk the surrounding area of the castle out of opening times. You actually pay down at the castle & not the car park area. Good luck with your photos😁It's amazing place for pictures

Hi. A rush in 1 hour, or a good leisurely 3 hours. If a 4 year old, expect to get a sore back from carrying on shoulders as steepish hill, and gravel path
