For any tourists, a bit of semi-local info: if a photo of an ice-cream for Aunty Bettys appears on social media, everyone knows where it came from. They're famous for their super-generous portions and adventurous flavours (including isn bru). All the toppings are free, the quality is brilliant, and even if you don't like ice cream there's loads of different... More

Well what can I say about this ice cream shop. Tremendous tremendous tremendous, did I say it was tremendous, the ice cream is lovely. I had the Scottish tablet ice cream cone, there was ice cream all the way down to the last bite. The Mrs had rum and raisin which she loved. My son had Strawberry and polished off... More

Great ice cream parlour on the sea front, plenty of flavours to choose from and lots of toppings to pick through. Great way to finish off a day at seaside took me back about 35 years.

Sticky toffee pudding Vanilla ice cream Sticky toffee pudding Caramel sauce rippling through it. OMG Fantastic ate it before I photographed it. (my apologies) For older visitors enjoy the trip down memory lane with old fashioned... More

This place must be the most popular place in the north east for ice cream. Incredibly busy throughout the summer and any time there is a nice day. If you're queued just inside the door, I find it doesn't take too long to get served. The ice cream is fantastic and there's plenty of choice. Irn Bru and Tablet are... More

Since I'd just had an amazing supper from the next door Bay chippy I thought I'd treat myself further. A cone or tub with 2 scoops is £4, but the scoops are enormous. Plus the flavour range is diverse, including a couple of sorbets and frozen yoghurts for those who prefer low fat options. The staff were also really friendly.

by far the best ice cream in the North East, I love Aunty Betty's. Huge portions with all the little extra wafers, flakes and sweets. Ice cream to die for.
