What a gem of a place situated in the harbor area of stonehaven amazing artifacts that have been collected over the years also there is a video to watch of the new year festivities when they have the fireballs going down the street and then down to the harbor to distinguish. The people who run this are all well knowledgeable... More

Small museum run by volunteers, interesting items displayed. Very friendly museum guide who told us he is hoping to extend and develop the museum. Check opening times beforehand.

One of the oldest building in Stonehaven, the museum is very small but has of lot things that might interest you. It is right near the Stone-haven harbor and the beach, the entry is free.

Situated in a great location in the harbour this fantastic wee museum is just my kind of place. If you're the kind of person who likes bright, modern, uniformly laid out museums you probably won't think much of this place but if, like me, you're the kind of person who likes dark, dingy, higgledy-piggledy museums choc-full of interesting and varied... This museum, which is situated in the oldest building in Stonehaven, forms part of a very attractive harbour side. It is worth noting however that in winter the museum is only open at weekends.

My husband and I took our three year-old granddaughter to the museum today and we were absolutely delighted. It was packed with interesting stuff, well-attended and well served by the friendly staff. Our little girl was thrilled to seek out 10 dinosaurs and get the chance of a lucky dip which afforded her a well-received small toy. We'll all be... More

This is a brilliant wee museum. The gentleman running the museum, on the day we visited, was great with the children and was very friendly. We will definitely visit again.

This is an attraction not only used by visitors but by local schools and families. The constant additions and the local people who man it continually supply new and interesting information and displays. Be sure to put it on your to do list!

Having dined above at the amazing restaurant, (different owners), and visited the Highland Boundary Fault at the northern end of the bay, we decided a visit to the museum would round off a lovely three day visit to the town. Entry is free but donations are encouraged and much needed in a community run museum. We were enthralled by the... More

The musuem sits underneath the Tolbooth Seafood Restaurant beside Stonehaven harbour. Entry is free but donations are welcomed, from the minute you walk through the door you are taken back in time by the music playing. The area is filled with artifacts from days/years gone by, very interesting and the 2 gentleman that were in at the time were very... More
