We went in the beginning of season so only a few slopes were open, hence it was a bit overcrowded and queues for rental and tickets long. Very quick service at cafe, nice hill for kids.

If you don't have time go to Northern Finland, then Himos is the place to visit for downhill skiing. However, note that in early season only few slopes might be open (yet full ski pass price).

My probaly the ca 10th visit there. Not too far (ca 230km from Helsinki, incl 100km highway drive), less than 3 hours to drive from Helsinki. Just rent a log-house for your family and friends and enjoy a long weekend there. Good place to learn...More
