The outside of the church was being painted at the time of my visit. It is a very small church and not too elaborate inside. It is noteworthy because it survived the German occupation during WWII.

The tranquil atmosphere of this simple wooden church, is thought provoking; remembering what happened in there during the Second World War. It is now a well loved church in the centre of the community. The happy children playing in the adjacent school gives hope after...More

It is the history of survival that makes this small church special. Also there is a lovely cemetery adjacent .

This is a very attractive, fairly typical, Norwegian church... we drove up to see it and there was adequate parking for a motorhome... disappointed that it was not open... made a lovely photo though!

A wooden built church which survived the destruction of WW2. Small but worth a visit. Appeared closed but the door was unlocked when we tried it.

I really don't want to be mean, but why is this considered a attraction? It is an ordinary church, i failed to see anything special. The buildings around are indeed uglier :)

Nice looking church that should have been part of our trip to North Cape, but sadly it wasn't open. The guide said there'd been some dispute between the volunteers, so no-one would open it up now. A shame.

I think this is the Honningsvag Church which is the parish church of the Nordkapp Municipality in Finnmark County and it is a survivor. It is the only building that was left standing after the occupying German forces in the last months of WW II...More
