On a family vacation to Chhattisgarh, we decided to explore Jagdalpur area. Jagdalpur is around 400 km away from Raipur, the state capital. Various transport modes are available including buses. We chose own taxi. Chitrakot waterfalls is simply wonderful. You can visit in the month of May/June (before rain) and post monsoon. Both are equally beautiful. We went in the... More

Wonderful environment. Prevent the monsoon as the water flow is hard enough to wash someone with it. Besides the rainfall also makes it tough to drive on roads connecting jagdalpur to Raipur. For tourists not local, winter is the best season as the water calms down and is clear to enjoy a bath.

1.This place is 39km from Jagdalpur. 2. I visited the place on 25th February 3. A boat ride which takes you just beside where the water falls(only a few meters away) is a must. It's one experience YOU WILL NOT FORGET. The boat ride cost me just 30/person 4. In February when there is not too much water current on... More

A beautiful place, easily accessible from Jagdalpur (good road, 40 km). Sadly, a hotel was built at the top, and there is a game park at the bottom. The government should have done more to protect the area (could have made it a natural park). Hopefully the natural setting won't be any more destroyed (otherwise the spirit of the place... More

The best time to visit this place is after monsoon. Even though we visited this place in January it felt like heaven. Waterfalls, mountains, greenery, calmness are the beauties of this place. The sound of birds and water are mesmerizing. The boat ride is must-do. The lunch at the Chhattisgarh Tourism restaurant near the waterfall was a tasty and relaxing... More

Water Ghushes on these hills and during rains it feels awesome. Must visit and stay here for night in a nice resort next to it. Some part of fall flows round the year.

The place is really nice, far from city crowd. But the waterfall is not that great. Need some maintenance, safety boundaries and more communication.

Even-though Indravati river was not full during my visit , the Chitrakot waterfall was still an awesome sight. We could even see a rainbow on the falls , during noon hours. The view is equally good, if you get down to the bottom of the fall There is boating available, probably run by local folks (similar to "maid of the... More
