The Church of the Holy Trinity was built on the site of a previous 17th-century church that was destroyed during the 19th century by a cyclone which damaged many buildings in Trinidad. The church contains an 18th-century wooden statue of Christ "El Señor de la Vera Cruz" which is an object of particular reverence in Trinidad. Originally destined for a... More

Friends told me they came several times and the church was closed so I was happy we found it open. The church is on Plaza Mayo and is open only from 10:30 to 13:00. We walked around and found it to be a charming little church

First of all, this is a review about the church at Plaza Mayor in the city of Trinidad, which is called “Church of the Holy Trinity” (Iglesia Parroquial de la Santísima Trinidad), NOT “Iglesia Parroquial Mayor del Espiritu Santo”. The latter is apparently located in Sancti Spiritus. I hope that TripAdvisor will correct the name of this church, as apparently... More

Lovely old church standing at the top of Plaza Mayor. Not much to see inside and it's free but donations are welcome. Worth a look even if it's to get out of the blazing sun.

The church has rather typical outer facade, situated on the northeastern side of Plaza Mayor keeps appearing on Trinidad postcard views. It was rebuilt in 1892 on the site of an earlier church destroyed in a storm. It represents a mixture of a 20th-century touch-ups with artifacts from I'd say 18th century. All in all, good to see when in... More

Quite small but very nice church. Good for about 30minutes. There are not so many things to see in Trinidad so it is worth to visit the church

The church has seen better days but it is a great one. Stands on a perfect place. Really the town centre. Don't forget to go inside, it is nice to see and it will cost you nothing unless you are like me and leave some money for the church.

This is a lovely old church on the main square---not opulent like the cathedrals of Europe but none the less beautiful in its simplicity. Definitely worth a visit if it is open.
