We live in the beautiful Sierras of Rocha, easily accessible and close to the beach, yet well off the beaten path. Our passion are horses, so mostly we offer stays based on long horse back rides for experienced riders, or gentle introductions to the world of horses for beginners. However, we also offer our amenities to anyone who just enjoys being off the tourist paths for a few days, who likes to enjoy peace and quiet and beautiful nature and hearty vegetarian cuisine. We are part of an ecological, organic, artistic comunity,so there is wild honey, organic milk and cheese, and plenty of live music.

I stayed in a cabin with two friends, which was very roomy, clean, and had a beautiful view of the valley and horses. We went horse back riding for three hours and were able to trott and gallop with the horses. The food was great as well; home cooked vegetarian meals made primarily with veggie from their massive garden. We... More

You may get a little lost while searching for the ranch, but when you do finally get there, you'll find it difficult to leave. My girlfriend and I stayed only one night, but it was a magical experience from the beginning to the end. We shared meals with Lucie and her mother, and enjoyed their warm hospitality. Although we never... More

We have just spent 3 nights with Lucie and her team doing a children's camp with our 3 children aged 5, 7 and 9. It was an amazing experience for the children and adults.

We spent an incredible day and night with the team at Caballos de Luz - if you're looking to experience horse riding whilst in Uruguay, this is the place! Lucie and Santiago have built a gorgeous ranch in a quite beautiful location here in the countryside. We had a delicious lunch in their garden before joining them for a few... More

My wife and I will never forget our multi-day ride with Lucie & Santiago. The several days we spent on these superb horses allowed us to see the varied and enchanting countryside of the area. Expert leadership and horsemanship, delicious vegetarian meals, beautiful sights, some wildlife, a bit of history, great camping spots, comfortable sleeping accommodations, and comfortable riding tack.... I did a five day trip in the Sierras with Lucie, plus stayed two nights at their home. Lucie and Santiago are among the kindest and warmest people I've ever met. They handle their horses wonderfully. The riding was fun, the scenery beautiful, and the camp spots lovely. The food is top notch. The whole trip was done very professionally,... More

My wife and I were visiting our son during his fall semester abroad in Montevideo, and wanted to do something not tied to Uruguay’s cities and fantastic beaches. Lucie and Santiago’s ranch and the community they live in, are an extraordinary example of a hidden gem! We spent one day with them - way too short in retrospect – and... More
