We toured in the evening/night in an organized tour group consisting of about 30 guests. There was another group of the same size ahead of us.  In other words, we saw this place in a very private setting, but the pace was dictated by our...More

Nice palace, well done restored. Beautiful park. But you need to pay 2 admission tickets. One of them is 1000 rubles, for the palace interior, bit pricey considering there is no English guide or descriptions. Russian people pay 700 rubles and they have free guide....

One the best places to visit in St. Petersburg. It is just beautiful. We went in October and it was incredibly crowded. Full of people and tours, we hated that part. It was easy to get there, Uber is cheap from the metro station.

This palace has definitely had it's ups and downs. Built to show the magistracy of Russia as a showplace, not a home. This tour was really great because we had a private guide. She taught us the art of going to the front of the...More

I like English Garden which was designed by Charles Cameron. Everything is the sheer size. it is more than 1000 acres and gold, gold. The golden mirror room is superb.

Wow, the luxury, excess and opulence places the era in proper perspective and reason for rebellion of the masses. It is spectacular in architecture, period pieces, art and gardens. A must see. It is huge in scope and requires much time. The furniture pieces are...More
