This was once the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan. It’s a good place for hiking and birding. The hill also has temples dating back to the Chola period. It gets extremely crowded on weekends. The hills offer great views of the surroundings, though.

A quick half day trip from the city, the attractions include remains of Tipu Sultan's fort and an old temple at the top of the hill. There are two good times to visit; one for sunrise and the other at sunset.

There no good options to eat at the top but you can bring your own food and eat without littering the place. Beware of the monkeys. Either you... More

Beautiful view, crowded but plenty of areas to explore and take in the scenery. Food options available. Certainly a gem.

If you have the chance to reach there by the early morning to see the sunrise, you should not miss it. It is a very nice day trip as an escape out of the loud and crowded Bangalore. Also a nice place for families, as you can walk easy from the parking space to the top of the hill and... More

Early morning vistors will be able to get the nut out the shell. Otherwise its a well maintained hill with wide accessible green spots and jungle routes to roam around, Good spot for short flim makers and couple shoots. Since Its a hot spot near Bangalore you will end up climbing the mountain all the way in vehicle queue, to... More

We started in our Honda City from Harlur Road at 6AM and reached Nandi Hills at 8AM on a Saturday. Although this place is famous for its sunrise, we decided to avoid the hectic traffic it witnssses on weekends. Firstly, the roads leading to the hill are very well maintained and is suitable for new drivers with prior experience of... More

Try on a cold day early morning. At an altitude of 1478m the only mountainous spot near Bangalore, shining at its own style. Newly laid roads make better path till the edge of the peak. Never try without scarfs or other preventive materials which saves you from wet mist.
