Having outlet stores in expensive real estate is becoming challenging! High rental and growing population! Traditionally housed with Macpac, Kathmandu, Ice Breakers, Paddi Pallen, Adidas, Champion, ..New Balance, basketball ball shoes and balls shops, .. bicycle shops, Mountain Design gas recently disappeared from the strategic corner location!

Lots of nice cafes, restaurants and bars. Morning/midday good selection of cafes on smith street and around smith street. Afternoons great selection of restaurants and bars on dmith street. Not far from cbd and parallel to other popular streets (brunswick st, lygons st). 😊

A beautiful way to spend a nice warm afternoon shopping through a number of outlet stores with plenty of cafes to stop at for wonderful coffee or a little something to eat. Well worth visiting.

This street has something for all. Take your time to explore the vintage shops, cafes and restaurants, vegetarian/vegan shops, grocer's and butchers, factory outlets and many other beautiful and eclectic stores. One day is not enough. I stayed in the area for 12 days and only scratched the surface. Be sure to wander down the side streets too and go... More

Smith Street has always been a good low price shopping centre. But it has a violent history. Squizzy Tayler, the Collingwood and Fitzroy pushes, ie the local gangs in the early 20th century. The suburb was full of condemned houses, without running water and no sewerage. All this has changed. some of these little workers cottages, which were slums, now... More

Smith St is one of those inner city drags that have undergone a great deal of gentrification and upgrading in recent years. It used to be scruffy, dank and even dangerous (a favourite area for drug sales) but nowadays it seems to be undergoing an upmarket transformation. It is still a bit scruffy in parts but its now a long... More

What a great place Smith Street is. We are visiting from London and think that this is a cool place to visit, there is a real vibe here. Great cafes, interesting shops, good bars and restaurants. Check it out before it becomes too main stream.

A number of good restaurants have moved into Smith Street probably because of the low rent and proximity to the city. It is not a very attractive Street and in time may get better

See the detested vertical black and white stripes of Collingwood Football Club proudly worn. This is Collingwood! A bit tatty and down at heel, but lots of interesting shops and restaurants. Always something new in Smith Street, it's constantly evolving -- new outlet shops, new gift shops, new places to eat. I take a stroll down Smith Street whenever I'm... More

Smith Street has a great variety of food options, funky shops and as a result a great vibe; go for a stroll, sample a few cafes, check out some interesting shops
