I took my one year old daughter to the trail worried about whether or not I would need to wear her on a hiker backpack. This trail is perfectly paved for a stroller the whole way. No need for a hiker carrier! The trees were...More

We were 4 families camping in Kernville and decided to take a drive to view these beautiful trees and get a little relief from the heat. The drive from Kerville was about 1 hour and the temperature dropped about 10-15 degrees. Because it was a...More

It is definitely worth visiting, our family loved the trees and nature. However, be warned, no matter which way you drive through it will be long, windy roads. Plan for, at the very least, about an hour through mountainous, curving roads. Being from the Midwest,...More

This was one of my favourite days during our coast to coast adventure. You cannot help but be in absolute awe at the sight of these magnificent Sequoias, they are unbelievable. A nice paved path leads through the woods and everywhere you look, there are...More

Glad we stopped here. Trees are a must see for everyone including kids to grandparents. The trail is about 1.5miles and is paved which makes it easy for strollers and your feet. Be prepared for the drive because it will make some people car sick....More

My family is from Colorado, and we love our mountains -- but we don't have anything like this. Pictures certainly do not do these trees justice. You need to walk among the giants to truly appreciate them. This trail is easy and offers incredible sights...More

Amazing site. Ancient Sequoia trees. Easy paved trail. Not crowded the day we went. The kids loved it!

Absolutely stunning looking at these giant Sequoias. An easy and very relaxing hike, no inclines with a paved path which is clearly marked. My kids who are usually playing with their mobile devices had a blast running around, climbing fallen tree trunks and checking out...More

It's a bit off the main roads but certainly an enjoyable side trip. The easy paved path and trail markers take you very close to the giants and into the forest. When we visited they had been doing some clearing of the undergrowth and smaller...More

Be advised the drive to the Trail of 100 Giants is windy and no guard rails which made my wife quite nervous, just drive cautiously. For some reason all the parking areas were closed off due to renovations so we ended up parking on the...More

I don't see why not. Your phone will not have reception, when you get really high up. There is a restaurant with wifi (I believe) in Ponderosa if you need to search for directions or maps on your phone.

Snow Mobile, Snow Shoes, or wait until spring. Since we're in a drought, call Ponderosa Lodge or the Bed and Breakfast up there and ask how much snow there is. I've done that plenty of times, and then go eat lunch at their... More
