It had snowed the day before so it was wet underfoot but we walked the trail to the stairs that led to the bottom of the falls. Well worth the trek down even though it was steep in places. Getting back up wasn’t too hard...More

There are many different walks to do from the car park and visitor centre, not just the waterfalls. There are walks that cater for all ages and abilities. Some are accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. There are huts to stay at on some routes. There...More

Dawson Falls is a very rustic place. The location is ideal being just 10mins away from the road or you can take the long looped trek from the Visitor Centre that would take about an hour. Near the falls is the original powerstation that is...More

A narrow drive into the falls carpark. Visit to the falls is worthwhile but the steps are steep and not the best for short legs. Falls are very pretty even on a cold day

Short walk down to this beautiful waterfall. You can get really close to this waterfall. Definitely worth the drive out there.

An easy hour-long ish walk not far from the main road, the falls are certainly impressive to see. There’s a lot of spray coming off them as they’re very powerful so make sure you visit on a dry day so not to get extra wet!

one of the wonderful walks to do in the area. I did this walk with my 77 year old parents and they loved it. Just a good distance, not too hard, just beautiful

As per other reviews I had read we parked at the first small carpark with the shortest walk to the falls. You walk for a couple of minutes & then the path splits & you can either walk 5 mins further up to see the...More

Never been to Taranaki, and this was on list due to Victoria Uni songbook song (Fast pair of skis). Loved Falls themselves. Very nice young man let us in visitors centre when he had just closed it at to get brochures. Falls well worth a...More

There are a few walking trails but we just went to the falls. There’s a good view of Mount Taranaki from here if you’re lucky. There’s a visitors centre here and toilets (not the best loos) You have to walk from the car park down...More
