Even in the middle on winter (July) this is a stunning place to visit. Not far out of Raglan township to visit. Keep to the speed of 50km through most of the town and local roads.

We visited on a clear but cold, windy mid winter's day. Black sand, boulders round and smooth, youngsters out surfing, whooping with joy as they came in from their fun. We picnicked on lush green grass at strategically placed picnic tables, strong against the elements....More

Great beach for swimming and surfing. During summer months you can rent boards and wet suits. Raglan surf does lessons here as well. Has ample parking, changing rooms and toilets.
