Much better and more interesting palaces and big houses in other countries.. don’t really understand why they would ever charge for watching a fountain. There are no activities or entertainment for kids.

The tapestry’s from 1530’s measuring up to 10x4m are obviously well worth seeing as are the huge lamps made at the local glass factory ! Unfortunately know one turned the heating on and it was freezing - as cold inside as out!

Unfortunately the gardens are closed for the winter so I really wouldn’t come here right now. The palace itself is boring.

It is nice to see it from outside. It may be ok paying an entrance fee (9€) to see its gardens in summer. But really not worth its entrance fee just to see just the palace (for instance, in winter). Really weak palace inside. Looks...More

We visited the Palacio Real de la Granja as part of a day excursion from Madrid with Amigo brothers. This palace is in the country and as a result has an amazing set of gardens that are similar to the Peterhof in Russia. The fountains...More

Unfortunately i didn't make it on time to get in. I stretched too much between San Ildefonso, Segovia, El Escorial and Aranjuez and didn't have enough time for all. Luckily the gardens and the exterior was still open so I can see it and take...More

This is a great castle with beautiful and large gardens. Entering the gardens is free and you can really spend the whole day there, investigating the fountains and alleys. But for your adventure to be complete - do not miss visiting the castle itself. The...More

They are subject to a supply of water from the reservoir so sometimes in the summer may not be switched on, but normally 5.30pm on certain days. Just follow the crowds and the warden holding a Spanish Flag. The fountains are... More

To enter the gardens is free so you can take many pictures outside the palace. No pictures inside anyway
