Nice little church with lots of history

Nice little church build in the 18th century when the first christian missionaries came to Lappland. Lots of history, beautiful altar paintings and pipe organ. No entrance fee.

We made a visit to this unusual church with lots of character, amazing interior paintings and wood work and well worth a visit(no cost). Walking distance from the Ice hotel makes it a nice little outing

This 400year old wooden church is gorgeous and a must to visit! The setting is incredible and there is such an interesting story being told at the altar painting too (much younger than the church)!!

If you have the extra time you might as well pop in to see this small but cute church made in wood. It also has some interesting and unusual paintings since they include Sami people.

We visited Jukkasjärvi's church in July 2016. The church was built in the beginning of the 17th century, and is in a wonderful location, almost by the water. The church with its red from Falun is striking. It's age shows on the inside in the construction used. When entering, it is the altar pieces that strike first the visitors :... More

Lovely old church with some great paintings inside. Worth having a look round the church yard as well. Really interesting historical visit.

We took a walk from the Ice hotel to see the Sami village camp and wondered around the church. It was open and warm and set right on the banks of the river. Certainly worth visiting.
