We went on a very rainy and windy day which was pretty nerve-racking, but our guide (Justin) was awesome and pushed us through safely. We knew the weather was bad and they gave us other options, but we were determined to complete the crossing. The views were pretty limited for most of the climb due to the weather, but thankfully... Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and truly took our hike to the next level. We also loved not having to worry about making the shuttle time and be able to enjoy this world class hie at our own pace. Thanks again to the whole team, we loved every second of our time with you!

Abandoned on the crossing due to their staff having no clue about timings and then faced with 1930's customer service. AVOID!

We had prebooked the crossing before realising that we could have gone it alone as we were staying at the Discovery Lodge. Decided we would stick with it as you often learn more with a guide. We are not young but are very experienced fell walkers and runners. Phoned in to confirm our booking and ask for our pick up... More

Used these guys to book up a Tongariro crossing hike. Unfortunately both my wife and I picked up chest infections on the plane to NZ. Company were very helpful an accommodated us with the guide James taking us on a private itinerary of short more level and less demanding walks to see some of the local highlight , Tanaka Falls... These guys show the benefit of a guide on a walk like this. We left The Chateau on their bus on a day when none of the shuttles were running. We got to the start of the walk around 9 and set off in a cold, gale force wind. Getting near the top, the mist came down and we weren't... More

We often take guided hikes because we like to get the additional information about the area and have been on dozens of guided hikes in the US and in Europe and this was by far the least helpful guide we have had anywhere. We would've enjoyed the hike just as much if we were on our own as our guide,... More

My husband and I just came back from an amazing guided hiking trip, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. It was organized and guided by Stu. From start to finish this was the most positive experience for all the hikers in this group. We got picked up from Lake Taupo and driven to the start of the track. Our lunch was prepared,... More

We booked our Tongariro Crossing several months in advance and had a tight schedule around North Island to keep to. So we were very disappointed when we arrived in the National Park the day before to find the cloud base at about 500 feet - there wasn't a mountain / volcano in sight. We spoke to Adrift who told us... More

We booked to Climb Mt Ruapehu with Adrift based on a recommendation. Stew was our guide, he owns the company. Met on the mountain and discussed weather which was not good. We really wanted to go, as we were preparing for another much bigger climb, and Stew said it was safe, but we would get wet. Stew taught us some... More
