Moniki chocolate is conveniently closer than before and when I go browsing for bargains at Het Land van Waveren I can enjoy a chocolate or three. The ladies in the office always expect me to bring back a little souvenir. I found little tins (at Het Land) and asked Berry the chocolate lady to see how many chocolates will fit... More

This outlet is situated in a beautiful small store called Het Land Van Waveren in Tulbagh's historic Church Street, which is also worth a visit. The chocolates are beautifully handmade with care. They taste magnificent and are made in the traditional Belgian way with a South African touch. Reasonably priced. A chocolate tasting is also available.

We found the shop to be funky and very interesting. Absolutely lovely chocolate. Small variety to choose from but really superb. Liked all the curios and definitely worth a visit.

You get to choose four handmade chocolates (there were 10 to choose from) and a drink, which includes either a coffee, amarula, a port and a few other things, can't remember them all but as it was 10am, we had the coffee! The chocolate flavors included, white, milk and dark with delicious fillings like amarula, Dutch caramel, lime, brandy, chilli,... More

In comparison to Huegenot Chocolates in Franschhoek, Moniki is a good but average experience. Very few choices and expensive. Nice to visit if you are already in Tulbagh and in between wine tastings.

We stumbled upon this little establishment by accident while looking for lunch in Tulbagh. We enjoyed tasting chocolate with both brandy and rooibos tea. The chocolates are all amazing. We especially liked the amarula and the gerepico spices chocolates. This is a fun thing to do after a day of wandering around :).

If you are in the area and bored try it. In my opinion it is overpriced. We had the amarula and chocolate pairing. You get to choose four chocolates and it is a tiny shotglas of Amarula. R45 per person. Not really worth it. Chocolates are good but not outstanding and leaving you wanting more. Lady serving chocolates not very... More

Lovely chocolates and so reasonable for the quality. We decided to do our chocolate tasting after lunch which was perfect because not only did we get to taste 4 of the 8 chocolates available but we were also offered a choice of hot beverages, brandy, whiskey and Amarula, we chose the Brandy and Amarula pairing. I would highly recommend supporting... More

When walking through the historic Church street we were very surprised to find a chocolate tasting with chocolates made of Belgian chocolates in a smaller town in SA. As we are Belgians it was a must to go inside and do the tasting:). We enjoyed it a lot. We could choose our chocolates and the beverage we liked to drink... More

We went for the chocolate tasting and were very pleasantly surprised to find a gorgeous little shop of trinkets. We shopped to our heart's content and had a lovely chat with the owner/manager. What a lovely lady! The items we bought are already adding character to our home. PS: The chocolate is just to die for. Just love the little... More
