That was an excellent moment we had. At half an hour from barcelonette there's this place from which several hikes start. We climbed from 2300m to 2600+m high. At the summit you can see 2 lakes, one from each side. The air is fresh and...More

Cycled this Col in July 2017. Fantastic! It has gentle approach with views through the Gorge and waterfalls everywhere.

Great place for a picnic, cycling or hiking. Lovely rocky cliffs, fab views from the top. Road very narrow, drive carefully.

Great hiking in the national park, beautiful vistas into the Var valley, all amidst a carefully managed national park. The paths are beautiful and expertly marked and maintained so that even our 6 year old daughter had no problems.

A beautiful pass quite and untouched full of marmots who play with you. A must of you like Southern Alps on the way to the beautiful city of Barcelonette. Narrow road! Do not take it at night

This Col has wonderful views and walks. We rode over it by Motor bike and walked from the top to picnic by one of the lakes. Great rides for motorcycles and bikes.

Been to Cayolle a few times but it's still fun to drive. The north side is more twisty and narrow. The road surface in Mercantour National park area is not very good, but still not a real problem for road bikes. South side is wider...More

Part of the "3 cols" route, this is one of my favourite routes heading south out of Barcelonette. It is on the Col d'Allos/ Col de la Cayolle / Col des Champs tour for cyclists too!

This very narrow road has some wonderful views. We took this route 2 days after some heavy rain and there was work going on to remove some mudslides that had reduced the size of the passage.
