Just mind blowing natural beauty is present here. Better to walk beside river rather than thinking to go by car.

Nice and quiet place. With beautiful scenery, bridges and temples. Easy to get around. Better than busy places like Kyoto. A very short 20 minutes train from Kyoto. Don't forget to have its famous Green Tea ice cream. Better than anywhere else in Kyoto.

It was a nice walk for an hour from Byodoin Temple and back. There were many tea houses along the way. Try one of the tea tasting workshop and have some snacks there and on the way you could view nice sceneries along the path....More

The town of Uji evolves around this river and yet, the river itself boasts really good view. Few bridges actually cross this river. Along this river too, one can find the famous Byodoin Temple and its omotesando street.

Its a very pleasant trip from Kyoto to Uji, about 45 minutes by train, to see Byoden-in Temple, UNESCRO World Heritage, and to walk along Uji River to visit other temples and shrines in this city.

Though not very wide or deep, it's a vibrant and fresh River. Great wild life and extremely well maintained. The Marine life is Rich and visible due to its glass like water. The adjoining greens are pleasant and soothing.

Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi
Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist
attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens,
temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for
strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine
itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the
mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers,
picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the

Some construction works still in progress but mainly concentrating on the dam and upstream region without disturbing tourists enjoyment in walking and admiring the scenery along the Uji River.
