The people who work here are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the reptiles and amphibians of the region they are mostly bilingual (at least on the topics of snakes and lizards). Your ticket is good for a day and a nighttime visit. They provide flashlights for aid in locating the specimens. Nice little gift shop too.

We really happened on this spot by accident while walking from our hotel to town. What a great find! The presentation of the animals in terraria with good explanatory material was useful, but when we made a second trip which our ticket entitled us to to see the more nocturnal species, our guide's obvious love of her subject and descriptive... After reading many reviews online about what to do in Monteverde this attraction kept coming up on the list. So, when in Monteverde I figured I must check it out. It is a cool place to check out! You will get to see a bunch of reptiles that you may or may not get to see in other parts of... More

This will hopefully inspire people to value and protect it both her at around their homes. We loved it ! After visiting the cloud forest, it was nice to see what really was in the forest that you just can't see from the trail. Split into snakes, reptiles, frogs you get a varied view. The guide was excellent and part of the entrance fee. We had about 10 minutes to ourselves to start with but realised... More

This place was great fun, especially since it showcases a lot of the reptiles and amphibians native to Costa Rica. It's very fun to try to find the critter inside the enclosure, but remarkably difficult sometimes. You know they're in there but they're still very tough to find. I gives one the appreciation of how much there may be in... More

Although small, the serpentario gives you a very good overview of the reptiles and amphibians (plus some tarantulas) that live in Costa Rica! The ticket allows you to come twice (during the day and when it is dark). Very friendly staff and knowledgeable guides.

If you like and wanna learn about costarrican snakes, frogs, turtles and some others species, this is the perfect place. Price is good and service excellent, it is safe, all species are on their own showcase and you can take pictures.

The place is small, but holds a few of the species that live in Central America. As I spent 3 weeks in Central America and didn't see one wild snake. This was a good eye opener to what was out there. When you pay for your ticket you can use this for double entry during the day and return on... More
