Visited a couple of years back and was impressed then. A little concerned due to the recent bad press but need not have been. Due to the bad press admission was free which was fantastic of course but the Zoo for me has improved on what was a great zoo a few years ago to even better now. You can... More

Fab day out here today. Really impressed and was better than we all thought after all the bad press. Hadn't been for a few years and there was definitely some good improvements and changes. Spent hours here leisurely wandering around in the sun! Animals were brill and the kids fed the giraffes and lemurs. Free to get in and just... More

You can tell this zoo needs a bit of work as some of the older enclosures were either closed or getting renovated! I'd advise getting a map as there are sign posts but I went around in circles a bit! Was super busy but still plenty of space for the pushchair. Also take a picnic loads of areas to watch... More

We have visited the zoo every year due to having a caravan in the lakes and it's always been a good day out with the children. They have made some improvement to the park from our last visit. It was also a donation entry fee too. We seen the baby giraffe which was £1 entry and they were located at... More

Booked to visit here prior to the nonsense written in the press, we booked to have a animal experience with the giraffes and the primates. On arrival the receptionist Diane was great and she asked if we would also like to feed the tigers ... who wouldn't? All the keepers who took us on the experiences were well informed on... More

Despite the recent bad press coverage and the potential closure of this Safari Zoo I decided to see for myself what all the fuss is about, and I am delighted to say my family and I had a wonderful time, the staff were extremely helpful and clearly enjoy looking after the animals, (just a shame about ignorant visitors who insist... Visited with our grandchild we were unsure what to expect. However we were pleasantly surprised by recent changes. All the animals we saw seemed well looked after . The whole place was refreshed with pleasant staff and an additional play area was a bonus after exploring the zoo. We travelled 70 miles for our visit so free entry was welcome.... More

My husband visited with our children 3 & 8 whilst I was at work. They could not stop talking about what a fantastic day they had. So we decided to go back at the weekend. Free entry is always a bonus. However not that expensive if you have to pay. I think the sign said £16.50 for adults and children... More

Was a little apprehensive to visit following all the bad press but i had read the most recent inspection report which detailed all the improvements that have been made. Well worth a visit. The animals looked healthy and were well cared for. I love that you can walk through the animals and see them close by. The tigers and lions... More
