Watching Barrie CTV news at 6:00pm and story said Talisman is open for business! Great location, golfing open.

Passed by recently and didn't know that they are in receivership. Place is in a shambles and all signage has been removed. What a shame as we used to really like it and at one point, several years ago, owned adjacent property and hoped to build a chalet. Glad we sold the lot.

Went to go skiing. Closed. The place is abandoned, no one around. Should take down the TODS road signs.

This place was abandoned by it's owners and left to rot and decay. They didn't even board it up so animals and weather have ravaged the building while wine glasses still sit on the tables.

It is unfortunate as to what happened with the Talisman resort. Once a great family getaway with moderate hill drops for beginning skiers and where my kids learned the sport. The new owner had great plans for the redevelopment of Talisman, but, as in many small Ontario towns received opposition to any idea that is progressive. The place is now... More

We stayed at this resort on business with a large group (over 80 people) in October 26-29, 2005. I don't know why it closed but it was great with the clean big rooms, excellent restaurant with a great big selection of very good food. It had large conference rooms which were cleaned daily. The views were excellent from this resort.... More

Our family spent many enjoyable weekends at Talisman Ski Resort - friendly staff, family-oriented environment and wonderful meals! Sad to say, they are closed - we arrived to find the place abandoned. Refer http://www.simcoe.com/news/article/1118439--bank-put-talisman-in-receivership

It's a great family hill.... but it might appear they are not opening for 2012... :( Site is down. No one answers call etc. Plus rumours spinning around from closing early last year. This would be a loss for the area.
